Need for Speed Carbon Now Plays Directly in Your Browser
A community‑led project brings the classic PS2 racing title to Chrome and Edge without installation

NFS Carbon Online
The independent NFS Carbon Online project has ported the PC version of Need for Speed: Carbon to run in modern browsers that support WebGPU. Users can launch the game from a simple web page on Chrome or Edge, and the launcher automatically downloads the necessary assets.
Local Installation and Controls
Players who already own a Windows installation can import the game folder, allowing the browser to use local files instead of downloading them again. The launcher also offers keyboard controls and support for Xbox, PS4, and PS5 controllers, with a menu to remap keys and back up progress.
Multiplayer and Community Server
Multiplayer is enabled through a community server that does not require an EA account. Players can create or join custom rooms, and the free version also includes a free‑play mode for exploring the game world with friends.
Extension to Other Titles
A similar adaptation exists for Need for Speed: Most Wanted, which uses WebAssembly and WebGPU to run in the same browsers. Both projects demonstrate how legacy games can be revived for modern web platforms.
